Is Allah the Moon God?
The evangelicals say: “While the name of the Moon-god was Sin, his title was al-ilah, i.e. “the deity,” meaning that he was the chief or high god among the gods… As Coon pointed out, ’The god Il or Ilah was originally a phase of the Moon God.”
Response
So, the Coon (some kind of professor the evangelicals quote here) now says that the name of the moon-god is ‘sin,’ not ‘Allah’?
Regardless of what the Coon and his evangelical cohorts say, Il, and, ilah, originally referred to Allah, the Creator of all things. This is His Name as both the Bible and the Quran agree. All Arabi Bibles as well as the Quran mention the Creator by His name, Allah.
The Coon and evangelicals defame their own Bible, which uses the very terms they claim refer to the moon-god, to describe the Creator of all things. There is always a first. These evangelicals seem to be the first to claim that the god they worship is the moon-god!
Of course, there is no proof whatsoever to what the Coon claims here about the Creator’s name. Whatever names the idol-worshippers used to call their idols or worshipped objects, can never compete with the fact that Allah, and the variations of this name, originally and always, refers to the Creator of all things.
Idol-worshippers deviate from the truth by giving the idols, which they create with their hands, names derived from Allah’s names and attributes. The Quran denounced them for this clear polytheism and injustice.
Allah said in the Quran {And recite to them the story of Ibrâhîm (Abraham). When he said to his father and his people: “What do you worship?” They said: “We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted.” He said: “Do they hear you, when you call on (them)? Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?” They said: “(Nay) but we found our fathers doing so.” He said: “Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, you and your ancient fathers, verily, they are enemies to me, save the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (all that exists). Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me. And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me. And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again). And Who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense (Day of Resurrection).} (26:69-82)
To continue, ‘Ilah,’ refers to ‘a’ worshipped object, whether the object is worshipped justly or unjustly. The Idol-worshippers, called ‘mushriks (polytheists)’ in Islam, worship various objects to which they assign divine powers and, sometimes, give their idols names derived from Allah’s name to represent a certain attribute of Allah. Different polytheistic cultures choose one of the worshipped objects to be the chief among the gods, ‘Al-Ilah,’ as the coon puts it.
However, Islam affirms that only Allah deserves to be Al-Ilah, meaning, the Worshipped Deity, the One and Only Ilah (God). This is the explicit and exact meaning of the statement of Tau’heed, i.e., Allah’s Islamic Monotheism: “La Ilaha Illa-Allah,” that is, there is deity worthy of worship, except Allah.
As for Coon, what proof did he offer other than conjecture which is led by his blind enmity to Islam?
To defeat the Coon’s argument, we simply use the Bible itself: “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)
According to the logic of the evangelicals and their smart Coon, the terms il and ilah refer to the moon-god! Note that Eli and Ilahi represent the very same word. Therefore, Jesus was invoking this god by saying, “My Moon-God (Eli), My Moon-God (Eli), why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)
These people are just not normal. Have they even bothered to read the description of Allah in the Quran or the terms the Bible uses to describe the Creator of all things whom Jesus used to invoke?
Here is how the Quran describes Allah, {Whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allâh, and He is the All Mighty, All Wise. His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. It is He Who gives life and causes death; and He is Able to do all things. He is the First (nothing is before Him) and the Last (nothing is after Him), the Most-High (nothing is above Him) and the Most-Near (nothing is nearer than Him). And He is the All Knower of everything. He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days and then Istawâ (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). He knows what goes into the earth and what comes forth from it, and what descends from the heaven and what ascends thereto. And He is with you (by His Knowledge) wheresoever you may be. And Allâh is the All Seer of what you do.} (57:1-4)
Does This Sound Like A Moon-God?
Examine the power and the clarity of Allah’s words in the Quran, then compare them to the pathetic words of the evangelicals and their Coon!
