‘Political Islamists,’ have largely become Interfaithers in America and other Western countries. A leader of a masjid controlled by ‘Political Islamists’ argued with me about my calling Jews and Christians, kafir. I recited to him two ayat from Allah’s Book, ayat 5:72-3, where Allah calls Christians kafir. He wasn’t convinced.
He next made an astonishing statement that, Allah loved Umar when Umar was still a Mushrik. I said, Allah loved Umar when Umar was a polytheist, against Tau`heed of Allah? Umar, who at that time was physically oppressing the Messenger of Allah and his Companions, and was especially harsh at that?
After Umar became Muslim, his Islam was a major advantage for Islam and Muslims at that time, and until the end of time. Umar used all his energy to support Islam, after he became Muslim, while beforehand he used all his energy to oppose Islam.
Do we really need to quote ayat from Allah’s Book about Allah’s displeasure with Shirk and Mushriks? This is really pathetic that some Muslims would think this way, just to appease Jews and Christians, who care less about these Muslims or their Islam.
