Sam Shamoun vs. Length of Allah’s Days
Or,
1+1+1=1 vs. 1+1+1=3
By Jalal Abualrub

I recently posted a two-part article here: (http://islamlife.com/readarticle.php?article_id=12; http://islamlife.com/readarticle.php?article_id=13), where I refuted a most absurd claim by Jochen Katz with regards to the length of Allah’s Days.  Katz thrives on defaming Islam by explaining the Quran as his Evangelical heart desires and then posting his lies on his Answering Islam website claiming that this is what Islam propagates.  My two-part article responded to Katz asking about the length of Allah’s days, is it 50,000 years or 1,000 years?  We gave him the answer.  He is still not satisfied, and since he is utterly ignorant in Islam, he turned for help to his protégée and companion in liar-man-ship and ignorance: Sam Shamoun.  Shamoun wrote 29 pages of utter nonsense where he admits that the Ayat that Katz relied on to support his claim that there are different numbers for a day with Allah in the Quran, are in fact of three different contexts.  Yet, he still insists that they are of one and the same context.  Why am I not surprised?  If Shamoun believes that 1+1+1=1, then to him, three different contexts are actually one and the same context.  You see, Shamoun believes in three different gods who, according to him, are in prefect harmony, even though when one of them died, the other two remained alive, so we are told.  Therefore, his belief that three different contexts are actually about the same context does not come as a shock to me.  However, after reading the long Shamounic article, I found nothing in it that responds to my challenge to Katz: If Allah contradicted Himself in the Quran with regards to the length of a day with Him, then, Katz & Cohorts must bring two Quranic Statements wherein Allah says: “A DAY WITH YOUR LORD IS”, and then mentions two different numbers.  Katz and Shamoun could not find such statements.  So, instead of answering my challenge, Shamoun brings different days with creation to –still- claim a contradiction in the Quran with regards to the length of a day with Allah.  Is that why Katz wrote an article about the length of Allah’s Days?  Is that my challenge to Katz, which I repeat here: bring two Ayat wherein are two different numbers both of which describe the length of A DAY WITH ALLAH?  Absolutely not!  Shamoun just babbles about different days in the Quran which are of different lengths as creation experiences them, but fails to meet my challenge.  To add to his failure, Shamoun discounts God’s ability (note that I used the word ‘God’ here) to create days of different lengths that do not only vary in length as creation reckons time, but are also felt differently by parts of the same creation, by Allah’s Power.  But, the question is: why would Shamoun need 29 pages of babbling about different contexts, which he desperately tries to ‘glue’ together to make them appear as if they are one and the same in context?  This is because he could not meet my simple challenge to him: Bring two Quranic Statements describing a ‘Day with your Lord’ as…and then mention two different numbers.  This is a simple challenge, isn’t it?  There is no need to bring different days with creation, because that was not the topic of their article or my challenge to them.  I only need two different numbers under title, “A Day with Your Lord.”  Otherwise, Shamoun proves to the reader that he is indeed a terrible liar.  Remember that their entire argument is about the length of Allah’s Days, not the length of creation days.  So, when Shamoun collects Hadeeths and Ayat about different days to creation, how can this possibly help his case against the Quran?  How would mentioning the length of certain days to angels, to men and to other creations be proof that the Quran contains a contradiction?  I mean, come on!  Mankind now knows of infinite number of lengths of days that exist in different parts of the universe, so why would it seem strange that Allah creates days of different lengths in this life and in the Hereafter?  This man, Shamoun, just insists on defying logic and allows his deep hatred of Islam to lead him to inventing terrible lies about it, without thinking about what he writes, before he writes it.  He discusses the Arabic Quran based on its English translations.  He does not even know the difference between ‘Yaumu-l-Qiyamah’ and, ‘Yauma yaqumu an-nasu lirabbi-l `Alameen’.  He thinks that ‘yaum’ is ‘yaum’ is ‘yaum’, while ‘qiyamah’ is ‘yaqumu’ is ‘qiyamah’.  And no, I will not explain the difference between these terms here, not yet.  Indeed, if there is a contract to ignorance, Katz and Shamoun would and should have first right to it with full ‘honors’.
Thus for those brothers who urged me to respond to this latest nonsense by Shamoun, I say to them this instead: The dispute is about the length of Allah’s Days.  Thus, let Shamoun bring two Quranic Ayat with conflicting reports about the length of the same day to Allah, and then I will respond to him.  What he brought is a comparison between the length of Allah’s Days and the length of creation’s days as Allah makes them feel and experience them.
Here is another absurdity that Shamoun brings forth.  In his article mentioned here, Shamoun contradicts the Quran with his personal interpretation on Prophetic Hadeeths.  This is because to these lying devils, the Quran is Muhammad's creation, so they would try to contradict the Quran with Hadeeth, whenever it suits them that is.  Yet, he challenges me to, “…provide any Quranic references which clearly, unambiguously identify the Spirit, the Faithful Spirit, and/or the Holy Spirit as the angel Gabriel.”  Note that Shamoun used these words, “Quranic references; Spirit; angel Gabriel.”  Well, here are Quranic references proving that the Ru`h (Spirit) is indeed Angel Jibreel (Gabriel).
I hereby answer Shamoun’s challenge, so will he do the same with regards to my challenge to him?  Allah said these words in the Quran, {And truly, this (the Qur’ân) is a revelation from the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists). Which the trustworthy Rûh has brought down. Upon your heart (O Muhammad) that you may be (one) of the warners}; [26:192-194]; {Say (O, Muhammad) Ruh‑ul‑Qudus has brought it (the Qur’ân) down from your Lord with truth, that it may make firm and strengthen (the Faith of) those who believe, and as a guidance and glad tidings to those who have submitted (to Allâh as Muslims)}; [16:102]; {The angels and the Rûh ascend to Him in a Day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years}; [70:4]; {Say (O Muhammad صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ): “Whoever is an enemy to Jibrâîl (Gabriel) (let him die in his fury), for indeed he has brought it (this Qur’ân) down to your heart by Allâh’s Permission, confirming what came before it [i.e. the original Taurât (Torah) and the original Injeel (Gospel)] and guidance and glad tidings for the believers}; [2:97].
Quranic Summary: This Qur’ân is a revelation from the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn, which the trustworthy Rûh has brought down upon your heart, O, Muhammad; Jibrâîl (Gabriel) indeed has brought this Qur’ân down to your heart by Allâh’s Permission.
Conclusion: 1) The Ru`h is Jibreel 2) Sam Shamoun is a liar.
